Vintage 1960s Native American Silver and Turquoise Royal Order Jesters Kachina Bolo tie. The artist is likely Helen Long (Navajo) who made custom high end bolos and other jewelry.This bolo tie is adorned with really high quality Kingman mine tuquoise set in sterling silver .925. It has a genuine gold Billenken that could be solid. The biliken has two emerald eyes and a ruby nose. This type of bolo tie was custom made for the Royal Court of Jesters (Shriners) and given to members on special occasions. The small guy is a Billiken – these were custom made for the Royal Court of Jesters (Shriners) and given to members on special occasions. The numbers on the back are traders code which is an older inventory system. This bolo tie was part of the Ed Simmerman collection of Kansas City Missouri and he very well could have been a shriner. Ed had a very large collection that ended up at Johnny Morris’ Top of the Rock museum.This very old Navajo Silver Bolo was likely made in 1963 looking at the numbers "0063" or that may be an inventory number.
